We took over from founder Geoffrey Johnston with one mission: preserve everything that made this garage great, and build on it for generations to come.
In 2024, Alex and Kara Nobles proudly became the new owners of Carmel Valley Garage, continuing the trusted legacy established in 1997. Their journey to ownership was built on years of dedication, experience, and deep roots in the community.
Alex began working at Carmel Valley Garage in 2019 under the mentorship of longtime owner Geoffrey Johnston. Kara joined the team in 2018 as the bookkeeper, helping manage the business's day-to-day operations. When Geoffrey began planning for retirement, he recognized in Alex and Kara the experience, integrity, and commitment needed to carry the shop forward.
Both Alex and Kara were born and raised in Monterey County and are deeply invested in the well-being of their community. Alex is also an engineer and has served as Fleet Manager for the Cachagua Fire Department for the past five years. Kara serves as the Board Clerk for the Cachagua Fire Protection District, a role she has proudly held for four years.
Family is at the heart of everything they do. Their daughter, Jade, is 8 years old and attends Tularcitos Elementary School. The Nobles family plans to remain in Carmel Valley for decades to come, raising their family and continuing to strengthen the community they love.
Born and raised in Carmel Valley, Griffin has been with the garage for approximately four years. His local roots, strong work ethic, and dedication to quality service make him a valued member of the team and a familiar, trusted face to many longtime customers.

From Hwy 1 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, head east on Carmel Valley Road. Continue approximately 12 miles through the valley. We are located at 14 W Carmel Valley Rd in the village of Carmel Valley. Look for our large round white sign on the right side of the road.
